Set up for your trade
Set up CalMov for mobile tyre fitting
By the end, customers say how many tyres they need and see the time and price, you know about the locking wheel nut key and where the vehicle is parked, and each job has a report.
Which plan
Free on Lite: Vehicle profiles, one time & price question per service (or two combined into one table), the form after booking, the Job report with a job timer and your notes, and Site & access. Pro adds photos, the job checklist, the report you send the customer, "We'll review it", "Approve first" and up to 10 time & price questions per service.
Your setup, step by step
Step 1: Switch on the tyre fitter tools
Open Toolkit and check Tyre fitter is picked under "Your trade". Press "Back to tyre fitter defaults" to switch on Vehicle profiles, Time & price questions, Forms after booking, Job report and Site & access, plus Photos if you're on Pro. Every other tool goes off, and nothing is deleted.
Switching a tool on in Toolkit and following Set it up. Recorded with example data. Step 2: Price by number of tyres
Go to Booking page › Questions and, under "Suggested for tyre fitting", press "How many tyres?". Under "Changes the time or price of", keep Tyre fitting and untick Puncture repair, then fill in "+ Minutes" and "+ Price" for 1, 2, 3 and 4, for example +15 min, +15 on the price for 2 tyres and +45 min, +45 on the price for 4. Press "Add question".
Adding a question whose answers change the time and price. Recorded with example data. Step 3: Ask about the locking wheel nut key (Pro)
On Pro, press "Do you have the locking wheel nut key?" and leave Yes empty so it adds nothing. For No, add your removal time and charge, for example +20 min, +25 on the price, or set "Then" to "We'll review it" so you can check before confirming.
Step 4: Or combine both questions in one table
A service on Lite has one time & price question, or two combined into a table, and Pro can use a table too. Add the locking wheel nut key question with "The answer changes the time or price" switched off, then press Edit on "How many tyres?" and choose it under "Combine with". Each pair of answers then sets the time and price, and any No box can be set to "Can't book online".
Combining two questions into a table of times and prices. Recorded with example data. Step 5: Save the tyre size and ask where the vehicle is
Add "Tyre size", which is asked when booking and remembered for each vehicle, so returning customers pick their vehicle instead of typing it again. Add "Where will the vehicle be parked?" too. It goes in the form sent with the confirmation and is asked fresh for every booking.
Step 6: Ask about parking and space to work
On the same page, find "Site & access" and press "Parking" and "Space to work", plus "Door or key code" if you need one to reach the vehicle. Customers answer in the form after booking, and the answers are saved to the address for next time.
Step 7: Choose how tyre fitting is booked
In Services, open Tyre fitting and find "How it's booked". Choose "Book straight away, as an estimate" so customers see an "About" time from their answers, and the booking is made at that time and price. On Pro you can choose "Approve first" instead, so the customer sends a request and you confirm the time and price, changing the length if you need to.
Choosing how a service is booked. Recorded with example data. Step 8: Set the checklist and photos (Pro)
In Toolkit, under Job report, press "Edit the job checklist", which starts as Check tyre size and condition, Fit and balance, Torque the wheel nuts, Return the locking wheel nut key. In job mode you can take "Before" and "After" photos, up to 12 a job. After "Finish job", press "Send report" to email the customer a message and the photos you choose.
Step 9: Try your own booking page
Press "View booking page" in Booking page › Questions. Enter an address, pick Tyre fitting and choose a number of tyres to see the time and price change.
How different trades use it
- Puncture repairs
- Leave Puncture repair unticked under "Changes the time or price of", so it books at its own time and price.
- Vans and fleets
- Each van is saved as its own vehicle profile with its tyre size, so the customer picks it next time instead of typing it again.
Common questions
Can customers pick a tyre brand and see its price?
No. CalMov works out the visit from the service and the customer's answers, and it doesn't keep a tyre catalogue or stock list. Put your fitting charge in the price, or on Pro set the service to "Approve first" and confirm the full price before the booking is made.
What if the customer has lost the locking wheel nut key?
That's what "Do you have the locking wheel nut key?" is for. Set No to add time and a charge, to "Can't book online", or on Pro to "We'll review it".
Does the time between jobs allow for driving?
Yes. Customers enter their address first, and CalMov only offers times you can reach, allowing for the journey before and after each visit. Lite uses a fixed travel gap that you set, and Pro uses road-based drive times with expected traffic.
A customer has two vehicles. Do they retype everything?
No. Each vehicle is its own profile with its own tyre size, and returning customers pick the vehicle.
What do I need Pro for?
Photos, the job checklist, the report you send the customer, "We'll review it", "Approve first" and more than one time & price question per service. Everything else in this guide works on Lite.
