Mobile hair styling in the United States
Booking software for mobile hair stylists and house calls
A color appointment and a cut and blowout need different amounts of time. Let clients book the service they need at their home, with room for setup and the drive to your next visit. CalMov uses the customer address and the duration you set to check availability.

The scheduling problem
A free start time is not the same as a reachable appointment
One slot length cannot fit every service
Color, processing and finishing can occupy much more of the day than a cut. Set the full duration before allowing clients to book.
The home changes the setup
Parking, stairs and the space available for equipment affect the visit. Ask practical access questions before arriving.
A familiar client may book a new address
A saved profile helps with preferences. The address for this appointment still needs its own drive-time check.
What CalMov handles
The information used before a customer confirms
Service time you control
Set a price and duration for each published service. Keep all color processing time inside the appointment rather than assuming another client can overlap it.
Hair preferences you can reuse
Set up profile questions for hair length, usual style or finish. Use an every-booking question for what the client wants changed this time.
Location and working-hour checks
Collect the ZIP code and customer address before offering final availability. Your hours, breaks, service area and chosen travel method shape the options.
A visible travel charge
Pro can apply your base-to-client travel brackets. The review shows the service price and any extra travel charge together in USD.
Run your bookings from your phone
There is no app store download. Open CalMov in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen to use it like an app. Clients book from your booking page or website in their own browser.
Customer booking workflow
Book the service and the drive together
Offer clear choices so clients can choose an appointment you have enough time to deliver.
- 1
Check the visit location
The client enters their ZIP code and full address inside your chosen service area.
- 2
Select a hair service
They choose from your cuts, color appointments or styling services with published durations.
- 3
Find a workable time
Availability allows for the service and drive time around the bookings already on your schedule.
- 4
Review preferences and price
The client chooses or creates a profile, answers questions for this visit and reviews the total.
Worked booking example
A cut and blowout after a morning color visit
The morning color appointment keeps its full processing and finishing time. A proposed 60-minute cut must also leave room for the confirmed 2:00 PM client.
About the example: Illustrative appointment lengths and driving allowances, not a live route estimate. These are example services and times.
Finish the color appointment
The complete booked service ends. Allow ten minutes to pack equipment before leaving.
Drive to the next home
The example allows 20 minutes to reach the proposed client's address.
Arrive and prepare
Fifteen minutes remain for parking, carrying equipment and setting up.
Start the cut and blowout
The new service takes 60 minutes, with no overlap against the morning color visit.
Clean up and pack
Fifteen minutes are reserved after the service before the next drive begins.
Leave for the confirmed client
A 25-minute drive leaves five minutes of arrival margin before the 2:00 PM appointment.
What the example shows
This example only works if the five-minute arrival margin is enough for the final visit. If you need more setup time there, adjust the service or buffers so the 12:15 PM option is withheld.
Two ways to handle travel
Choose the level of drive-time checking your schedule needs
Drive-time checks decide whether the visit fits. Automatic travel pricing, included on Pro, separately applies your distance or drive-time charge brackets to the trip from your business base to the customer.
| Plan | Travel method | Best suited to | Remember |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | A drive-time buffer you choose | A compact service area where most drives take a similar time and one generous buffer is easy to manage. | The same buffer applies even when one customer is nearby and another is near the edge of your service area. |
| Pro | Road and expected-traffic checks | A service area where drive times vary between customer addresses, or a tightly planned day where roads and expected traffic at the appointment time make a real difference to which times work. | Expected traffic is planning information, not a promise that every drive or appointment will start at an exact minute. |
Before you choose
Is CalMov right for you?
CalMov focuses on booking appointments and allowing time for the journey. Check these details if your business also needs repeat schedules, team management or specialist records.
One provider, individually booked visits
One active staff member can take bookings per business during the founder launch. Automated recurring appointments and multi-staff scheduling are not available yet; rebooking reminders email clients a link to book again when they're due.
Keep complex consultations separate
CalMov does not assess hair or schedule another client during processing time. It can require an allergy alert test before a color service and let answers such as hair length add time and price, but a color correction still needs your consultation; on Pro, set it to Approve first so you see the request before confirming.
Frequently asked questions
Can a returning client reuse their hair details?
Yes. Set up a client profile for lasting preferences, then ask visit-specific questions separately. Clients can recover saved profiles by email without creating a password.
Does hair length automatically change the booking price?
It can. With Time & price questions, a hair length question can add the minutes and price you set for each answer, and the client sees the time and price as they answer. Lite allows one such question per service, or two combined into one table, and Pro up to 10. For work that needs a consultation first, publish separate services or, on Pro, set the service to Approve first.
Is there a CalMov app for mobile hair stylists?
CalMov works in your phone's browser, so there is nothing to download from an app store. Add your CalMov dashboard to your home screen (in Safari on iPhone, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen; in Chrome on Android, choose Install app or Add to home screen) and open it like an app between appointments. Clients book from your booking page or website in their own browser, without downloading anything or creating an account.
Can my US customers pay when they book?
Yes. Connect your own Stripe account on an eligible plan to accept online customer payments in USD. Customers can also book and pay you later. See US pricing for the current plan options.
