Problems CalMov solves
What should a booking page for a van business do differently?
A booking page for a van business should ask for the address first, turn away addresses outside your area, show any travel charge before the customer commits, and only offer times you can drive to. A salon booking page does none of that, because the customer comes to the chair.
Where a salon booking page falls short
Most booking tools were built for premises. They ask for the service and the time first and the address last, if at all, so a customer 20 miles away sees exactly the same times as your neighbour.
For a van, the address decides everything: whether you go there at all, what the trip costs, and which times you can reach from the jobs already booked. So it has to come first.
A worked example
A customer books a full valet
- 1. The customer enters their address first, then chooses a full valet.
- 2. They are 14 miles from your base, which falls in your £10 bracket. On Pro, with travel charges shown before checkout, the page tells them about the £10 charge as soon as they enter their postcode.
- 3. The times they see are the ones you can reach from your other jobs that day.
- 4. The review step shows the service price, the travel charge and the total before they confirm.
What to set in CalMov
Address before anything else
On every plan, customers enter the visit address before they choose a service and a time. There's no account to create.
Turn away addresses you don't cover
On Pro, CalMov places the address and turns away anything beyond your maximum distance before a time is chosen. With travel charges shown before checkout, it says so as soon as the postcode is entered, and can give your email or phone number.
Travel charges up front
On Pro, set travel charges in distance or drive time brackets. Show travel charges before checkout puts the charge on the postcode step and on each time.
Only reachable times
Lite keeps a fixed travel gap between bookings. Pro checks the drive before and after each job with expected traffic.
Who this is for
Businesses that work from a van or car and do the job at the customer's address.
Frequently asked questions
Do customers need an account to book?
No. They enter their name and contact details on your booking page as part of booking. There's no account to create.
What happens when someone outside my area tries to book?
On Pro, CalMov places their address and tells them before they choose a time. With travel charges shown before checkout, it tells them as soon as they enter their postcode, and can give your email or phone number so they can still ask you directly.
Can I put the booking page on my own website?
Yes. Share your booking link, or embed booking on your website from Booking page, Share your booking page, in your dashboard.
