When someone else fills part of your day

Many mobile businesses mix their own customers with work from agencies, insurers, letting agents or a larger firm. That work arrives by phone, email or another company's app, never through your booking page, so the page thinks you are free.

The fix is one diary. Whatever system the other company uses, copy each job into your own calendar with its address as soon as you accept it. CalMov treats it as busy time at that address.

A worked example

An agency job in the middle of the day

  1. 1. A letting agent books you for 13:00 to 14:00 at a flat 7 miles from your base, and you add it to Google Calendar with the flat's address.
  2. 2. CalMov reads it within five minutes, or straight away when you press Sync busy times now.
  3. 3. Your own customers can no longer book 13:00 to 14:00. On Pro, the drive to the flat and away from it is kept as well.
  4. 4. A customer close to the flat can be offered a time soon after 14:00, because the drive from the flat to them is short.

What to set in CalMov

Connect your calendar

On every plan, connect Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud in Hours & availability, in the Calendar tab.

Give each job its address

Put the job's address, or at least its postcode, in the event's location. An event without one is taken to be at your base.

Or add the job as a booking

Add it yourself from New booking in your dashboard instead, if you want the customer's details kept with the job. Bookings you add aren't limited by your minimum notice.

Block time without a place

For a block of hours with no address, add time off with a start and end time in Hours & availability.

Frequently asked questions

Should I add subcontract jobs as bookings or calendar events?

Either works. A calendar event is quickest if the job is already in your calendar. A booking in CalMov keeps the customer's details with the job. Both block the time and keep the travel either side.

What if I don't know the job's address yet?

Add the event anyway. Without a location it is taken to be at your base, so the time is still blocked. Add the address when you have it and the travel is worked out from there.

How quickly does a new job block my booking page?

Within five minutes of it appearing in your calendar, or immediately when you press Sync busy times now in Hours & availability.
