How the estimate works

Transparent assumptions, not a magic price

Allow for the whole job

Add detailing time, setup, clearing away and both journeys. The example assumes you travel from base to one customer and return, so vehicle costs use twice the one-way distance.

Keep travel costs and fees separate

Vehicle cost per mile is what driving costs you. Customer travel fee per mile is what you charge beyond an included one-way distance. A fee can be higher or lower than the driving cost.

Find the package price behind the total

Target total equals entered costs plus all occupied hours at your chosen earnings rate. Subtract the planned travel fee to see the base package price needed for that target, with a minimum of zero.

Questions about this planning estimate

Is the fee based on one-way or round-trip mileage?

The customer fee uses one-way miles above the included distance. Vehicle costs use the return journey too. For jobs linked into a longer route, allocate each driving leg once and use the service-area calculator for more flexible journey inputs.

Does CalMov itself charge a continuous rate per mile?

CalMov uses travel-charge brackets based on miles or journey minutes on Pro. This calculator's per-mile model is for planning. Convert your chosen charges into brackets in settings; they are not imported automatically.

Can this quote paint correction or a heavily soiled car?

Only after you choose a realistic scope, duration and materials estimate. The tool does not inspect the vehicle. Use a separate assessment when its condition makes the work uncertain.

Are these earnings guaranteed?

No. The result describes one job using your inputs, before tax. It does not predict demand, weather, cancellations or how many jobs you will complete.
